A pulse-Doppler morphologic evaluation is performed to study blood flow through the major arteries of both legs. This test measures the velocity of blood flow and identifies the presence, severity, and location of arterial plaque, which may cause reduced circulation, pain, or increase the risk of peripheral artery disease.
General Preparation Guidelines for Imaging Exams
Each imaging exam may have unique requirements. You will receive special instructions at the time of scheduling, and for some procedures, our staff will contact you 24–48 hours prior with detailed preparation guidance. Please keep in mind:

Notify your physician and our staff if you may be pregnant or are currently breastfeeding.

Let us know in advance about any dietary restrictions, physical limitations, or special needs.

Ask ahead about recovery time and whether you will need a driver to assist with transportation.

Wear comfortable, metal-free clothing; you may be asked to change into a gown.

Arrive 20 minutes early to complete registration and provide any additional health information.
