A real-time ultrasound is performed to evaluate the size, shape, and structure of the thyroid gland. This test is used to investigate lumps or nodules, determine whether the thyroid is enlarged (goiter), and assess other structural changes that may indicate thyroid disease. It is a safe, painless, and non-invasive imaging method that provides valuable information for diagnosis and treatment planning.
